Hi, I’m Jared Taylor. My daughter Isa and I have a passion for reptiles. I’ve been keeping reptiles for about 40 years. Ever since I was a young boy when my parents bought me my first snake.  A little garter snake from the local pet shop.

I spent many days and much of my free time looking for snakes and lizards in our back yard. Since then I’ve kept a long list of different reptiles from blue belly fence lizards and garter snakes to green iguanas, bearded dragons, and my 7-foot boa constrictor named “Stretch” who is now 26 years old!

When my daughter started asking for a tortoise for Christmas and showed an interest in reptiles, I couldn’t be more pleased.  She is now my “reptile expo buddy”.   Her tortoise “Mordecai” has been with us for about 5 years now. He’s growing up and is now a permanent part of our family. 

We recently decided it would be fun to do something together and share our enthusiasm for reptiles with others.  So, we decided to create a website.  Blue Dragon Pets. 

We post articles about our favorite reptiles mostly from a keeper’s point of view.  We love all creatures and not just the creepy crawly ones so occasionally we will post articles about other animals.

We don’t claim to be experts but we love to learn and love to share what we learn.  So hopefully we can all learn together!
